This piece examines societal expectations surrounding gender roles and the assumptions often attached to childhood toys. A persistent belief suggests that children who engage with toys traditionally associated with a different gender will somehow grow up to be queer. I find this notion both unfounded and absurd. Through humor, contradiction, and visual exaggeration, the piece draws attention to the ignorance underlying rigid ideas about gender and questions why society continues to project adult anxieties onto children.
