That split second of hesitation matters, because truth often feels exactly like that: uncomfortable before it becomes undeniable. And if you’ve ever licked a 9-volt battery before, this image will trigger that memory-sending goosebumps down your spine. That sensation is the point.
In the early days of photography, images weren’t simply taken-they were revealed. Film had to be submerged in acid. It burned before it clarified. Without that corrosive process, the image remained invisible. The truth already existed, but it couldn’t be seen.
