Our great and great-great grandfathers fought a war "to end all wars." It didn't. But our next war may, along with everything else living on earth. We now have only seconds left on the doomsday clock. One profound gift of art and of this exhibit is to alert us to questions for which we direly need answers, including "What compelling human feelings generate our tolerance for war, such as loyalty, belonging, power, hatred, challenge, fear? How can we redirect them to achieve our mutual survival?"
