I created this piece with my husband, Joe Leonard. It depicts a white, androgynous figure, masked in white, while in a state of transition. This work springs from my Buddhist practice, with interconnectedness and impermanence at its core. No need to get excited about privilege, physicality, race, or gender, which are all just temporary expressions of existence. Nothing to fight for or against. Nothing to claim or push away. No separation. Empty. White this time. But what last time, next?
